Examples of
Moisture Damage
MOISTURE UNDER INSULATION
Moisture trapped under wall insulation in basement can contribute to mold growth
MOISTURE AT BASE OF FOUNDATION WALL (WET ISOLATION MATERIAL)
Water seepage at the basement floor’s edge is a sign of moisture in the foundation backfill. Among other effects, wet soil increases the outside forces on a foundation.
MOISTURE AT CORNER OF FOUNDATION
Severe seepage along the edge of the basement floor and the wall corner, typically caused by drainage problems on the exterior.
MOISTURE ON BASEMENT FLOOR
When inspecting the basement or crawlspace for moisture, it is important to look under insulation.
CONCRETE MOISTURE METER
The amount of moisture in the concrete can be measured by a device specifically designed to measure the moisture content of materials.
WATER LINE ON FOUNDATION EXTERIOR
Water level stain from water accumulated during a previous rainstorm. This area is a drainage low point at the side of a foundation. The water at that location infiltrated into the soil and seeped into the basement.
SEDIMENT AND SEEPAGE
Water seepage can stain the concrete surface and deposit sediment.
